World Cup 2023

Dear friends of the sport, Ladies and Gentlemen.

It is a great honour for me to invite all lovers of the sport to the World Cup in whitewater sprint race, which will take place on 30 - 31  August 2023 in České Budějovice.

I would like to thank on behalf of  the Czech Canoe Federation for the trust that the World Canoe Federation has shown in us by assigning us to host such a significant event. The technical organisation of the race was delegated to the TJ Synthesia Pardubice team, a  recognized organizer of whitewater sprint races. The team has been providing  organizational skills in organizing numerous  senior competitions at the national level since 2007, when they arranged the very first Czech wildwater sprint Chamiponship on this artificial racecourse.

The racecourse in the Lída Polesná arena has recently undergone an extensive reconstruction, thanks to which the artificial slalom track meets the requirements  for hosting great international competitions.

The Czech Canoe  Federation has successfully organized a number of   world competitions in classic race , such as the the  World Championship in 2006 in Karlovy Vary, the Junior European Championship in 2003, and the World Cups 2003 - 2008. I firmly believe that hosting the World Cup in whiewater sprint race will be a successful continuation.

I am also sure that the World Cup 2023 will bring all the athletes not only a valuable experience of competing at a top international event, but also a lot of  experience and knowledge from visiting one of the most beautiful regions in the Czech Republic.

I have to thank all the enthusiasts and volunteers for the preparation of this challenging event. My thanks also goes to the sponsors who are in any way involved in such an  important event.

I am looking forward to seeing you in České Budějovice at the Lída Polesná whitewater area.
